|For the last two years we’ve taught a workshop course in Euclidean geometry as part of the FAMC. Over the summer, with generous support from the Sigma Network, we were able to turn this into a 100-page study guide accompanied by some interactive resources. Our hope is that, with a little perseverance, it should be possible to use this to teach yourself the content of the course, even if you have little or no maths background. You can download the whole thing for free here.
Our interest in this material extends to its philosophical and historical aspects, which are touched on in various places throughout the book. There’s also discussion of its use in different decorative traditions and some of the deeper mathematics it leads towards.
Fine Art students at Central Saint Martins who would like help with this material, or want to extend their exploration of it further, should book a tutorial with us through Moodle.
